Type locality: Trinidad and Tobago, Sangre Grande City, Caigual ( Brennan and Jones 1960). Type host: Desmodus rotundus (É. Geoffroy, 1810) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ). Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratypes), NHMUK (paratypes) and FMNH (paratypes). Panama records. Brennan and Yunker (1966) reported this species from two bats, C. perspicillata ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ), from Panama Province, and an unidentified bat from Los Santos Province. In addition, the authors reported, a marsupial host, D. marsupialis ( Didelphimorphia : Didelphidae ), from Piña, Colón Province. Other records. Surinam
