Genus Melidia Stål, 1876
The genus Melidia currently contains the 4 species M. brunneri Stål, 1876 , M. claudiae Massa, 2015 , M. kenyensis Chopard, 1954 and M. laminata Chopard, 1954 . Species of the genus Melidia Stål, 1876 are fully winged and in habitus typical Phaneropterinae . All species are predominantly green or yellowish-green and males have a brown patch in the stridulatory area. The species are distributed throughout eastern, central and southern Africa ( Ragge 1980).
