Diagnosis. Head wider than mesosoma, completely smooth and bearing no sulci (at most antennal scrobes present as very shallow depressions), with frons distinctly convex; lower face narrowed, antennae inserted below lower eye margins; sculpture of dorsum light to alutaceous. This group is similar to the marjoriae group in having the wide head with smooth convex face and light dorsal sculpture, but differs by lacking the frontal sutures.
