Parabergrothista n. gen.
Type species: Parabergrothista mollis ( Hoberlandt 1957)
Diagnosis. This is a species of habitus and general body structures as Bergrothista ; however, they lack the characteristic stridulatory structure of the latter in both sexes, for which a new genus is erected. The presence of a distinct metathoracic scent gland canal indicates that also this genus should be placed in the subfamily Mezirinae .
Parabergrothista n. gen. resembles also Jarmilaia in general appearance and shares the lack of stridulatory structure but is distinguished by much shorter antennae particularly segment I, by the dark coloured legs and antennae and by the thin collar.
Etymology. From>para<(Greek) close to, near by, and Bergrothista .
