Legs: tibiae fused with tarsi; coxal area with granules; 1st coxal seta (1b) and tubercles absent, 2nd coxal seta (1a) 9 long, Ct2-Ct2 10 apart, 3rd coxal seta (2a) 12 long, Ct3-Ct3 25 apart, Ct2\Ct3 18, Ct2-Ct3 10; solenidion ending as knob; empodium simple, 3 rayed.

Epigynium: 24 wide, 15 long, with granules at base, genital seta (3a) 7 long, Gt-Gt 18 apart.

Type data: Holotype Ψ, Taipei: Yangmingshan (650m; N25°10´E121°34´), 18-Aug.-1999, Huang & Wang; ex Symplocos chinensis (Lour.) Druce (Symplocaceae) . (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 4Ψ, data same as for holotype.

Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed. Remarks: This new species is close to C. castanopiae Huang et Wang, 2003 by the shield design with transverse line extending to lateral margins. This new species differs from C. castanopiae by the following characters: the shield design with admedian lines parallel at base, accessory seta (h1) present, and the 3-rayed empodium.

Etymology: The specific designation is derived from the specific name of the type host plant.
