Type locality. WC, ‘Cape Peninsula, Table Mtn.’ (Michaelsen 1908).

Distribution. Recorded from fifteen collection sites, all from the northern and eastern areas of Cape Peninsula. Table Mtn, top of the mountain and eastern foot-hills: Kasteels Poort Gorge. Skeleton Gorge, waterfall above Contour Path; in wet soil and moss by the waterfall, ca. 600 m asl. Echo Valley, bank of stream among the decaying roots. Near Wynberg Reservoir, stream flowing into Disa Gorg. Castle Rock, Nursery Ravine, mossy waterfall. Window Gorge at ca. 600 m asl, waterfall with moss. Orange Kloof, waterfall, grass roots and moss. Hillside, leads to the top of Constantia Berg, and above the waterfall of Prince Kasteel river. Silvermine Valley, halfway between Lakeside and Fish Hoek at ca. 240 m asl, vegetation burnt down and re-growing.

Remarks. Syntypes: SAMC 358 = syntype of Chilota faucium ; ZMH V-6929; ZMB Verm. 4094 (6 fragments). Other material: 1938.7.1.1474–1536 BMNH.
