Blephariceridae View in CoL is a small family with ca. 40 European species and subspecies ( Zwick, 2007). From the Transcaucasia ( Armenia), Komarek (1914) recorded Blepharicera fasciata (Westwood, 1842) View in CoL (as B. armeniaca Komarek, 1914 View in CoL ), Liponeura brevirostris var. kaukasica (propably invalid taxon, listed instead of L. brevirostris Loew, 1877 View in CoL ), and L. platyfrons Komarek, 1914 View in CoL (nomen dubium, according to Zwick, 1988). Later on, Zwick (1972, 1988, 1990) and Koç & Zwick (2006) recorded several species of Liponeura Loew, 1844 View in CoL from the Caucasian Anatolia in Turkey (see Koç & Zwick, 2006).
