Genus Tapajosa Melichar, 1924 View in CoL
Type species: Tapajosa fulvopunctata (Signoret 1854) Diagnosis. Within the Proconiini , the genus Tapajosa is separated by the following combination of characters: forewings exposing meron in resting position, transition of frons and clypeus without angle, muscle impressions on clypeus indistinct, male genitalia without paraphyses, thorax with complete dorso-pleural carina, hindwing with vein R 2+3 incomplete (except T. doeringii ), male genital plates fused basally and extending beyond middle of length of pygofer, aedeagus with basal processes (branched or unbranched).
