Measurements: (15 specimens measured) Average total length: 9.5mm, range: 7.8–11.0mm, average elytral length: 6.4mm, average elytral width: 2.8mm, average pronotal length: 2.3mm, average pronotal width: 2.1mm, average head width: 2.0mm.
Head: Red-brown, cranium densely vested with short setae, punctation distinct, interstices among punctation about one puncture diameter; posterior part of clypeus red-brown, margins darkened, anterior margin slightly concave, with large punctation and a few long setae laterally, smooth centrally; ventral part brown, smooth except wrinkles behind the eyes; antennae red-brown, A4 longer than A3, antennomeres gradually decreasing in length from A4 to A8, A9 to A11 forming an indistinct club, male antennae reaching beyond base of pronotum when laid back; gular sutures diverging apically, gular process broad.
Thorax: Average pronotal length:width ratio 1.1:1; pronotum red-brown, vested with short yellowish setae, pronotal arch with distinct punctation, interstices among punctation about one puncture diameter, pronotum proper with distinct punctation, interstices among punctation mostly smaller than one punctures diameter; prosternum dark red-brown, smooth; mesosternum dark red-brown to black, margins darkened, sparsely vested with yellowish setae; metasternum dark red-brown to black, densely vested with fine setae; anterior metasternal process with two strongly sclerotized, ventrally projecting, edges; scutellum oval, slightly darker than surrounding elytra.
Elytra: Average length:width ratio 2.3:1; uniformly red-brown except for a poorly defined slightly lighter fascia before the middle, in some specimens circular subcutaneous structures visible in lighter area, vested with short decumbent setae, punctation relatively small, sometimes with additional punctation between striae 9 and 10, striae 1 to 3 obsolete within beginning of faded yellow fascia, striae 4 to 8 distinctly punctured all over elytral length, punctation of striae 9 and 10 extremely weak, interstices between striae about one diameter of punctures, interstices within striae about one half diameter of punctures; punctation sometimes slightly rasp-like in basal fifth, interstices smooth, carination absent.
Legs: Yellow, tarsi red-brown, tarsal pulvilli pale; metatibiae more or less straight, anterior and posterior face of each tibia carinate, carination dark red-brown to black, distinct, especially on metatibiae.
Abdomen: Ventrites red-brown, punctation distinct, interstices smaller than one diameter of punctures; lateral margins of male pygidium converging, arms very long; male ventrite 5 distinctly emarginate in a broad U-shape; male ventrite 6 with narrow U-shaped distinct emargination. Male genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 ): Lateral margins of tegmen parallel, ventral sclerotization in two branches which separate again in apical half; spicular fork dividing into two branches after one fifth of length.
Distribution: China, Vietnam.
Seasonal occurrence: Collected in May and June.
