Measurements: (56 specimens measured) Average total length: 9.5mm, range: 8.4–11.0mm, average elytral length: 6.3mm, average elytral width: 3.1mm, average pronotal length: 2.9mm, average pronotal width: 2.5mm, average head width: 2.3mm.
Head: Red-brown, cranium densely vested with yellowish setae, with strong punctation, interstices often smaller than diameter of punctures; posterior part of clypeus dark red-brown, margins darkened, with large punctation and a few long setae laterally, smooth centrally; ventral part smooth, except wrinkles behind the eyes; antennae red-brown, A9 to A11 forming a distinct club, antenne reaching middle of pronotum when laid back; gular sutures diverging apically, gular process narrow.
Thorax: Average pronotal length:width ratio 1.2:1; pronotum red-brown, anterior margin darkened, vested with yellowish setae, pronotal arch with distinct and sparse punctation, pronotum proper with coarse and dense punctation, interstices smaller than diameter of punctures; prosternum red-brown, smooth; mesosternum red-brown, margins darkened, vested with yellowish setae; metasternum dark-brown to black, vested with fine setae, punctation sparse; anterior metasternal process with two strongly sclerotized, ventrally projecting, edges; scutellum circular but flattened anteriorly, red-brown.
Elytra: Average length:width ratio 2.0:1; basal quarter dark-brown with a color gradient to black to the apex, humeral region and humeral angle sometimes yellowish, yellow central fascia, extending from lateral to sutural margins, 5 to 8 punctures in length, expanded in middle, anterior along the suture, posterior with two to three extensions, remainder red-brown, darker next to central fascia, two yellowish spots near apex, rectangular subcutaneous structures visible through yellow areas, densely vested with short decumbent and longer erect setae, punctation relatively large, with additional punctures between striae 1 and 2 in humeral region, striae 1 obsolete after dark basal part, other striae covering entire surface but weaker after postmedian fascia, diameter of punctures larger than interstices between and within striae; punctation rasp-like in humeral region, especially carinated laterally next to striae.
Legs: Yellow, tarsi brown, tarsal pulvilli pale; tibia basally slightly darkened, metatibiae more or less straight, anterior and posterior face of each tibia carinate, carination red-brown, distinct, especially on metatibia.
Abdomen: Ventrites red-brown, lighter towards apex, with distinct punctation, interstices larger than diameter of punctures; anterior margin of male pygidium flattened, with a darker brown spot centrally, arms short; male ventrite 6 narrow, with distinct U-shaped emargination. Male genitalia ( Fig. 30 View FIGURE 30 ): Lateral margins of tegmen converging; phallic plates relatively narrow, tip strongly sclerotized with horizontal furrow; spicular fork dividing into two branches after one quarter of length.
Distribution: Vietnam, China (Yunnan), India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos.
Seasonal occurrence: Collected from March to June.
