The head and the prothorax of the holotype are lost. It was identified by elytral markings and punctation as well as male genitalia.
Others: Laos: Laos, Phongsaly prov., Phongsaly env., Phu Fa , h: 1450–1600 m; 25.VII.2006, leg. M. Geiser, Bergregenwald (3ex., RGCM, 1ex. 26.7.2006, 5ex. 27.7.2006, 2 ex., RGCM, 1ex. 28.7.2006, MGCB, 2ex., RGCM) .
Measurements: (14 specimens measured) Average total length: 9.3mm, range: 8.5–10.0mm, average elytral length: 6.2mm, average elytral width: 2.6mm, average pronotal length: 2.1mm, average pronotal width: 1.8mm, average head width: 2.7mm.
Head: Red-brown, cranium vestiture sparse and short, some longer setae near the eyes, punctation fine and sparse, posterior part of clypeus red-brown, margins darkened, with large punctation and a few long setae laterally, smooth centrally; ventral part smooth, except wrinkles behind the eyes; antennae light red-brown, A9 to A11 forming an indistinct club, male antennae reaching base of pronotum when laid back; gular sutures parallel, gular process slightly broadened terminally.
Thorax: Average pronotal length:width ratio 1.1:1; pronotum red-brown, apical margin darkened, vested with yellowish setae; pronotal arch with distinct punctation, interstices larger than diameter of punctures, punctation of pronotum proper slightly denser and deeper, lateral punctation sparse and finer; prosternum redbrown, margins darkened, smooth; meso- and metasternum dark red-brown, mesosternum centrally steeply projecting ventrally; scutellum oval, light red-brown.
Elytra: Average length:width ratio 2.3:1; red-brown, sutural margins particularly in apical half dark brown, in some specimen the darker coloration is dilated centrally, subrectangular to circular shaped subcutaneous pits visible on the entire surface, sometimes obscure in the middle near suture and on apex, vested with short decumbent and few longer erect setae, punctation relatively small, in some Laotian specimen with additional punctures between striae 9 and 10 in basal third, punctation present on entire surface except striae 1 which are obsolete behind about one fifth, interstices between striae equal diameter of punctures, interstices within striae smaller than diameter of punctures; punctation sometimes slightly rasp-like in basal fifth, carination absent.
Legs: Light red-brown, tarsal pulvilli pale to light red-brown; metatibiae curved distally, tibial carination distinctly present on anterior and posterior face of each tibia, carination dark brown.
Abdomen: Ventrites light red-brown, punctation dense and fine; posterior margin of male pygidium convex, lateral margins subparallel, arms length about one half of pygidium length; male ventrite 6 with distinct U-shaped emargination. Male genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 ): Dorsal sinus of tegmen deeply and narrowly Ushaped, ventral sinus deeper, narrowly U-shaped, ventral sclerotization in two branches which are dividing again in apical half; phallic plates narrow anteriorly, tip dark brown sclerotized with horizontal furrow; spicular fork dividing into two branches after one quarter of length.
Distribution: Vietnam, Laos.
Seasonal occurrence: Collected from May to July.
