In Canada, this uncommonly collected, widespread eucnemid species has been recorded in Nova Scotia, Ontario and Québec. In the United States, M. subsinuatus was previously known from Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Otto and Karns 2017). It is now confirmed as new state records for Kentucky and South Carolina. Three specimens were taken from Malaise traps in two states. One specimen was taken from a light trap in South Carolina.
