Nucula storrsi Stanton, 1895 View in CoL
( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 )
Nucula storrsi Stanton, 1895 , p. 52, pl. 6, figs. 13, 14.
Material and occurrence. Five specimens from Paskenta (Tithonian, Late Jurassic) and two specimens from Eagle Creek (Late Barremian, Early Cretaceous); Stanton’s type specimen from the Paskenta seep deposit was also investigated ( USNM 23048).
Remarks. As already noted by Stanton (1895) this elongate species resembles nuculanids but the forward pointing beaks suggest it to be a nuculid. To Stanton’s (1895) description we can only add that the species indeed has taxodont dentition.
