Diagnosis. Scutellar spines are more slender than in O. gracilis and distinctly shorter than scutellar length. The male terminalia ( Figs 21–25 View FIGURES 20 – 25 ). Phallic complex slender and near straight, with very short mid lobe. Female frons (Fig. 15) upper with dense whitish hairs, lower sparse haired, and middle with a fine longitudinal groove, whitish tomentonse facial stripes along inner eye margins usually shorter than in O. gracilis , originating below the level of the antennal insertion.

Male (Figs 14, 16, 18, 20–25). Body length: 5.0– 5.5 mm, wing length: 4.0– 4.7 mm. Head slightly broader than thorax, about 1.1 times as high as broad in frontal view and about 1.6 times as high as broad in lateral view, mostly black but with usual whitish tomentose facial stripes. Antennal scape and pedicel yellow with sparse yellow hairs, pedicel wider and slightly shorter than scape; basal 3 flagellomeres brownish yellow, apical 3 flagellomeres nearly black, relative lengths of antennal scape, pedicel and flagellomeres as 1.7: 1.6: 1.6: 1.3:1.3: 2.2: 2.1: 2.4 (cf. Fig. 20 View FIGURES 20 – 25 ). Face black, slightly convex, sparse grayish white haired. Frons and face with pale lateral stripe formed by dense tomentose along eyes, occiput shining black with sparse white short hairs. Proboscis yellow, with sparse yellow long hairs.

Thorax longer than broad, scutum black with sparse white hairs, scutellum yellow with darkened base, scutellar spines yellow, length of spines about half the length of scutellum at middle. Postpronotal calli yellow, postalar calli brownish yellow. Pleura shining brown, upper margin of anepisternum narrowly yellow. Wing hyaline, sometimes with diffuse darkened spots at cup cell and near middle of M1, stigma and veins brownish yellow. Halter brownish yellow with yellow stem. Legs entirely yellow.

Abdomen slender, usually compressed laterally, reaching at most 0.8 width of thorax, dark brown, sparsely dark haired, venter somewhat paler. Male terminalia ( Figs 21–25 View FIGURES 20 – 25 ) exposed, proctiger subtriangular, cerci short oval, barely twice as long as broad. Epandrium as long as proctiger lengthat middle part. Genital capsule somewhat tapered to proximal margin, medial process subtriangular, rounded apically. Gonocoxal apodeme almost at the same level of proximal margin of genital capsule. Each gonostylus leaf-shaped, with two pointed distal tips. Phallic complex slender, consisting of three slender lobes, with medial one very short, lesser than lateral ones. Parameral sheath short, not projected. Aedeagal apodeme well developed, exceeding the anterior margin of genitalia Female (Figs 15, 17, 19). Body length 5.0 mm, wing length 4.0 mm. Very similar to male, but eyes widely separated with a broad black postocular rim-shaped area. Head about 1.5 times as broad as high in frontal view an about 1.6 higher than long in lateral view. Frons with longitudinal middle groove, about 0.4 times as broad a head, shinning black, with dense punctation and pale hairs as described in diagnosis. Upper hairs denser and longer than lower ones. Abdomen broadened at middle, with widest part almost as wide as thorax. Abdominal hairs longer than in male. Female terminalia ( Figs 34, 36 View FIGURES 33 – 36 ): both cerci cylindrical, apical segment about 1.8 times length and 0.6 times width of basal one; genital furca with a foliated lateral proximal process and a peaky base, genital furca with a irregular median aperture, which with a protrusive basal margin.
