Buchananiella Reuter, 1884: 126 View in CoL . Type species by subsequent designation ( Kirkaldy 1906: 121): Cardiastethus continuus White.
Comments. Buchananiella is distinguished from other genera of the tribe Dufouriellini by the following combination of characters: rostrum short, almost reaching fore coxae; pronotum strongly narrowed anteriorly, depressed posteromedially, and with a swollen callus and deeply concave posterior margin; collar distinct; ostiolar peritreme posteriorly curved and extending to the anterior margin of the metapleuron; a medioventral opening of the omphalus usually present on sternum VII.
