Remarks. Two specimens of Chrysina marginata are currently on research loan as of 27 August 1999. The specimen labelled “NHMUK 014589729” is labelled with an incorrect locality “ Ca. Rica Chiriqui”. This specimen was collected and sold to Alexander Fry by Oliver E. Janson, a Coleoptera dealer who may have inaccurately labelled the specimen. This specimen has been labelled under “ COSTA RICA: No Data.” for the distribution. The syntype is erroneously referred to as a holotype by Moore et al. (2017).
