Perinaenia accipiter ( Felder & Rogenhofer, 1874)
(Plate: fig. 1; gen. fig. 2)
Spintherops accipiter Felder & Rogenhofer, 1874, Reise Österreichischen Fregatte Novara um die Erde in den Jahren 1857, 1859, Zoologischer Theil 2: plate 111, fig. 29.
The taxonomic placement of the species was revised and corrected by Boursin (1948) who recognised its close relationship with the Autophila Hübner , [1821] complex. The species is illustrated in colour e.g. by Sugi (1982) and Kononenko et al. (1998); the male genitalia are shown by Boursin (1948), subsequently, with the everted vesica by Kononenko & Han (2007); the female genitalia are depicted here for the first time. The distribution pattern of the species is quite curious, it is distributed in the relatively northern part of the Pacific region ( Japan, Korea, NE- China – Manchuria), the south-western part of India (Goa, type-locality); it has been found in SE Afghanistan (leg. C. Naumann).
