TYPE LOCALITY: Tanzania (= Tanganyika), Mt. Kilimanjaro .

DISTRIBUTION: E Tanzania (including Zanzibar and Pemba Isis); S Kenya; Tumbatu Isl.

STATUS: IUCN - Insufficiently known.

SYNONYMS: adersi, neumanni, schusteri, terricola, validus , vosseleri.

COMMENTS: Bothma (1971:1) questioned the distinctness of this species from arboreus .
