Composition. Calodipoena caribbaea (Gertsch, 1960) , C. colima (Gertsch, 1960) , C. conica (Simon, 1895) , C. cornigera Lin & Li, 2008 , C. dumoga Baret, 1988 , C. incredula Gertsch & Davis, 1936 , C. mooatae Baert, 1988 , C. stathamae (Gertsch, 1960) , C. tarautensis Baert, 1988 and C. tamdaoensis n. sp. A final note about C. biangulata Lin & Li, 2008 is that it should be misplaced in here and its potential placement of this species within the family will be discussed elsewhere.

Distribution. USA, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Panama, Trinidad, Bahama Is., Algeria, Sulawesi, Northern Vietnam and Southwestern China.

Comments. The genus was previously described in 1936 as monotypic ( Gertsch & Davis 1936). The type species, Calodipoena incredula , was known only from the type locality in Cameron County, Texas ( USA). Subsequently, the type species was transferred to Mysmena Simon, 1894 by Levi (1956) receiving also Gertsch’s recognition (Gertsch 1960). Brignoli (1980) proposed to split the genus Mysmena and to revalidate Calodipoena Gertsch & Davis, 1936 . In addition to the type species, Brignoli (1980) included in Calodipoena four species transferred from Mysmena ( C. caribbaea , C. colima , C. conica and C. stathamae ) as new combinations. Baert (1988) described three species from Northern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Two Chinese species were also reported from tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province ( Lin & Li 2008).
