As the name suggests, Perdita layiae is a pollen specialist on Layia Hook. & Arn. ex DC in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) . It is distributed in the CFP. UCRC holds 31 preserved specimen records from the Coastal Sage Matorral, BC collected in April and May 1941 ( GBIF 2023). See fig. 64.
