Nomada edwardsii Cresson, 1878 View in CoL
[ Lectotype: ANSP; ♂ California, USA]
Nomada edwardsii occurs from southern Canada to northern Mexico along the western side of the Rocky Mountains. This species has been reported to parasitize Andrena perimela nests but may have other hosts as well (Linsley & McSwain 1955). Within BC it was reported in the Coastal Sage Matorral by Cockerell (1941). We examined five specimens collected in the Succulent Coastal Matorral: two females collected in Arroyo Santo Domingo 5.7 mi E. Hamilton Ranch in May 1963; one male in El Rosario 2 in May 1957 (CASC); and two females at Nr. Consuelo 6 mi. NW El Rosario (1 LACM; 1 CASC). Additionally, the BBPT collected one female in the Coastal Sage Matorral south of Ensenada City in April 2021, and one in Chaparral in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in April 2023 (MABC). See fig. 144.
