Megachile chilopsidis is one of the most abundant Megachile species in the BCP, where it is primarily found in the SD. AMNH reports one specimen collected in the Coastal Sage Matorral in June 1968 ( SCAN 2023). The CARCIB team collected eight females in Vizcaíno Desert in June (1 ♀), July (1 ♀), and September (1 ♀) 2016, and June (1 ♀), September (1 ♀), and October (3 ♀) 2017. The BBPT collected this species in the Baja California Mountains in the foothills of Sierra Juarez (1 ♂), Lower Colorado Desert (34 ♀), La Giganta Ranges (11 ♂, 7 ♀), Magdalena Plains (8 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 219 .
