Dianthidium (Dianthidium) ulkei (Creson, 1878) View in CoL

This species occurs from southwestern Canada to northwestern Mexico ( Grigarick & Stange 1968; Ayala et al. 1996). This species specializes on pollen from a broad range of plant genera in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) . Within the BCP, it has been reported in the Gulf Coast and Sarcocaulescent Shrubland with preserved specimens in ASUHIC and BBSL ( GBIF 2023). We reviewed one male collected in the Baja California Mountains in September 1981 (BBSL). The BBPT collected specimens in the Coastal Sage Matorral in June (3 ♂) and September 2020 (1 ♂); Chaparral in May 2022 (1 ♂); and Baja California Mountains in September 2021 (1 ♂), and May 2022 (2 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 205.
