As the name suggests, Chelostoma phaceliae specializes on pollen from Phacelia Juss. ( Fowler 2020) . This represents a new species record for Mexico. The BBPT collected this species in the Coastal Sage Matorral in Guadalupe Valley in April 2022 (1 ♂) and Baja California Mountains at La Rumorosa in May 2022 (1 ♀). Voucher specimens are in MABC.
