Diagnosis: Usually a smaller species, the total body length of both sexes is 8–12 mm (without ovipositor). Ovipositor is 5–10 mm long, elongated, 2.8–4.1× long as the whole body, with whitish apex 1.5–1.9× as long as third basitarsus. Head matte, very finely sculptured, with only an ill-developed occipital carina (similar to G. assectator ). Antesternal carina is short and ill-developed. Mesonotum finely rugose with a satin shine.
Distribution: Paleo-montane species. Recorded in mountains, in Europe most records are from the Alps ( Austria, Germany and Switzerland), known also from Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro and Turkey ( Ferrière 1946; Madl 1989; van Achterberg & Talebi 2014; Madl & Mitroiu 2019, Özbek 2020, and personal records).
Not recorded. Nearest records are more than 100 km from the border in altitudes above 1,000 m n.m. in the Alps.
Biology: Unknown.
Conservation: None, not a member of the fauna of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
