Falsocaenia nigripenne Pic, 1934: 136 .
Type material. Syntype, female, “ Costa Rica ”, without other data ( ZMPA).
Redescription. Whole body dark brown, only pronotum yellow ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 15 ). Eyes small, distance between eyes 1.9x longer than maximal eye diameter. Maxillary and labial palpi brown, both widened, with distal papillae. Antennomere 3 1.1x shorter than 4 ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 31 – 41 ). Pronotum ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 16 – 30 ) 1.9x wider than long. Elytra 3.3x longer than humeral width. Female genitalia as in ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 69 – 76 ). Body length: 11.8 mm, humeral width: 3.1 mm.
Remark. Syntype with left antennomeres 2–11 and right antennomeres 5–11 absent.
Comment. After a detailed examination of both external morphological characters and female genitalia, the species Falsocaenia nigripenne Pic, 1934 is transferred to the genus Idiopteron .
