Larvae of all Bruchophagus species found in asphodel seeds are almost certainly phytophagous. The larval mandibles are bidentate ( Fig. 6B View FIGURES 6 ), as in the larvae of Eurytoma ( Fig. 6E View FIGURES 6 ), but with a relatively larger inner tooth, and the body setae are much shorter ( Figs 6A, C View FIGURES 6 ) than those of larvae of the Eurytoma species found in asphodel seeds ( Figs 6D, F View FIGURES 6 ). Six species, all previously undescribed, are here attributed to Bruchophagus .
