6. Caamembeca laureola (A.St-Hil. & Moq.) Pastore (2012: 437) View in CoL . Polygala laureola Saint-Hilaire & Moquin-

Tandon (1828: 55). Lectotype (designated by Pastore 2012): — BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: Rio de Janeiro,

Corcovado, July 1821, A . Saint-Hilaire Cat. C2 205 ( P 259352 !, iso-lectotypes P 259353 !, MPU!) .

Polygala lanceolata Vellozo (1829: 291) nom. illeg., non P. lanceolata Poiret (1804) . Lectotype (designated here): — BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro, 1783–1790. Iconograph: Vellozo (1831: tab. 63).

Taxonomic notes:— The iconograph (Vellozo 1831: tab. 63) does not match any known species of Polygalaceae . However, the flower morphology details show clearly a polygalaceous flower, matching the genus Caamembeca . Based on the geographic distribution and original description (Vellozo 1829) this name was placed in synonymy with Caamembeca laureola .
