Zelotes shaked Levy, 1998 View in CoL
Zelotes minou s Chatzaki, 2003: 70 View in CoL , figs 80-81 (female, misidentified)
Zelotes daidalu s Chatzaki, 2003: 77 , figs 91-92, 97 (male only) syn.n. (female misidentified, see Zelotes minous above)
Material examined. Site 37: 2♂♂, 2♀♀; Site 40: 3♂♂, 1♀; Site 44: 2♀♀; Site 53: 1♀.
Comparative material examined. Z. shaked : Holotype male ( HUJ 14869, Sayyeret Shaked Memorial Park , south of Ofaqim, Israel, 9.VI.1992, leg. Y. Brandt); 1 female ( HUJ 15508, Sedot Mikha, Israel, 14.VIII.2002, leg. Y. Mandelik).
Comments. The examination of the holotype of Z. shaked leaves no doubt that the male of Z. daidalus Chatzaki, 2003 is the same species, here proposed as a new synonym. The two males share a bulging terminal apophysis with anterior membranous folds which hide most of the embolus, a distinctive embolar base with pointed dorsal transverse projections and a tibial apophysis with a rounded tip. The characteristic chelicerae of Z. shaked with no teeth and relatively long and curved fangs are equally present in the males of Z. daidalus and in the females of Z. minous , reinforcing the new matching of sexes of these two species. The description of the female of Z. shaked which appeared later by Levy (2009) (p. 39, Figs 83–84) show it to be the same female as Z. minous ( Chatzaki et al. 2003, p.72, Figs 80–81).
Distribution. Israel ( Levy 1998, 2009), Crete ( Chatzaki et al. 2003, sub Z. daidalus (m) and Z. minous (f)), Karpathos ( Chatzaki et al. 2003 sub Z. minous ), Rodos, Symi.
