Gonatopus benoiti Olmi 1984: 1631 ; 1994c: 11; Azevedo et al. 2010: 895.

Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 2.6–3.7 mm. Yellow-reddish or ferruginous or yellow-testaceous, except petiole black and metasoma brown (in holotype) or testaceous; antenna testaceous, except antennomeres 6–10 or 9–10 or only 10 darkened (6–10 darkened in holotype). Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 9:6:20:11:9:8.5:7:6:5.5:8. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, or with tracks of slight longitudinal striae on frons (in holotype); frontal line incomplete and visible only in posterior half of frons; occipital carina almost completely absent (shortly present behind ocellar triangle); occiput shiny, unsculptured; POL = 2; OL = 3; OOL = 8. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum, crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, unsculptured. Mesoscutum shiny, unsculptured, except for some slight longitudinal striae, laterally with two pointed apophyses ( Fig. 207F View FIGURE 207 ). Mesoscutellum shiny, smooth, flat. Length of mesoscutum + mesoscutellum twice as long as breadth of mesoscutum (16:8). Metanotum smooth, with sides protruding (protrusions rounded) ( Fig. 207F View FIGURE 207 ), not ( Fig. 207G View FIGURE 207 ) or weakly excavated behind mesoscutellum ( Fig. 207H View FIGURE 207 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, unsculptured. Metapleuron transversely striate. Propodeal declivity with posterior half transversely striate. Mesopleuron smooth, shiny, transversely not striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete, occasionally (in testaceous specimens) hardly visible. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 12:2:4:16:23. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 206C View FIGURE 206 ) with one small subapical tooth and one row of 6–7 peg-like setae or eight small lamellae, in addition to one bristle. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 206C View FIGURE 206 ) with two rows of 3–4 (proximal) + 23–33 lamellae; apex with approximately 11–15 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
