REMARKS

Musa coccinea Andrews is consistently linked in the literature with M. uranoscopos Lour. , although the relationships between the two have not been shown. Further, M. uranoscopos Lour. is an illegitimate name. Musa coccinea is extinct in nature, but it thrives in the botanical gardens and in horticulture as ornamental.
