Host: Thunnus albacares (Bonaterre, 1878) , Scombridae, Yellowfin tuna. Site: Gills

Locality: Atlantic Ocean, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro State. Prevalence: 1 adult in one fish specimen and 2 adults and 1 immature in another one, out of 10 examined.

Deposition of specimens: CHIOC n os 36612 A–C and 36613.

Description of adult specimens

Based on three specimens. Body elongate, 8.6–10.8 mm long by 4.0– 5.1 mm wide with two pairs of eye spots; single longitudinal row of dorsolateral spines, 57–67 on right side and 59–77 on left side in number, with 9–12 cuspids each. Cephalic suckers 700–900 long by 900–1,000 wide, concave ventrally. Haptor sessile 2.6–3.2 mm in diameter, surrounded by delicate marginal membrane 140–150 long; internal surface of disc divided around central locus into 7 complete, lateral loci. One pair of anchors 63–135 long and 14 marginal hooklets present. Pharynx muscular, composed of two unequal bulbs, the posterior smaller than anterior, 840–1,025 total length by 940–175 largest wide. Testes about 60 in number, 180–233 long by 153–187 wide, confined to the intercaecal field.

Seminal receptacle 270 long by 155 wide. Ovary 660–800 long by 710–880 wide, median and immediately pretesticular. Egg quadrangular 100 by 95 with four filaments 45–50 long.
