Valid name: Neoromicia nanus (Peters, 1852)

Syntype: ZMB 3975 , body in alcohol, skull extracted (missing), male; Loango, Cabinda [Enclave], north of Congo River estuary, Angola; collected by Bocage.

Comment: Peters examined two specimens, but no holotype was designated, hence ZMB 3975 is a syntype, however, the whereabouts of the second syntype is unknown, perhaps destroyed by the 1978 fire in the Museo Bocage .
