Holotype: ZMB 58207, body in alcohol, skull extracted, male, adult; Cave at Boboni, SW-Grand Comoro, Comoro Islands; collected by A. Voeltzkow, 3 August 1903.
Paratypes: ZMB 4908 View Materials , skull only, Anjouan (= Nzwani, Comoro Ids. ), leg. J. M. Hildebrandt. ZMB 58202, skin and skull, female, adult; same locality, date and collector as 58207 . ZMB 58203 – 58206 View Materials , bodies in alcohol, skulls extracted, Grand Comoro , 21 December 1903, leg. A. Voeltzkow. ZMB 58198 and ZMB 58200, two skins and skulls, Cercle de Bambao, Anjouan (= Nzwani), Comoro Ids. , 10–11 October 1903, leg. A. Voeltzkow. Comment: Two paratypes were donated to other museums. ZMB 58201 was transferred to SMF (now SMF 47973), and ZMB 58196 was exchanged with the Amsterdam Museum ( ZMA) in 1979 .
