Africa, Univ. Natal, Ukulinga Res. Frm, 10 km SE Pietermaritzburg, 27.12.85, grassland, R. M. Miller & P.A. Stabbins, 1 ex., 22.10.85, grassland, R. M. Miller, clam margin malaise trap, 1ex. ( KZNM). The holotype of Phyllontochila junodi from “Transvaal, Zoutpansberg District, Shilouvane (Junod)”, housed in NHM has been examined by the photograph of the dorsal view habitus provided by E. Guilbert .

Distribution. The species is widely distributed in the Afrotropical Region ( Göllner-Scheiding, 2004; Deckert & Göllner-Scheiding, 2006).
