Genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 View in CoL View at ENA
Type species. Enyo nitida Audouin, 1826 , from Egypt .
Comment. Zodarion , with 175 nominal species, is the second largest genus in the family and the largest in Zodariinae ( WSC 2022) .It is restricted to the West Palaearctic, with most of the species known from the Mediterranean region ( WSC 2022). Judging from the diverse conformations in the copulatory organs of the species currently assigned to Zodarion , the genus is not monophyletic, with species closely related to the generotype restricted to the Eastern Mediterranean ( Zamani & Marusik 2021).
