Pachyanthidium (Trichanthidiodes) Michener and Griswold 1994: 319 . Type species: Pachyanthidium semiluteum Pasteels, 1981 View in CoL , original designation.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other subgenera by the eyes hairy, preoccipital carina present laterally, ocelli of normal size, aroliae absent in both sexes, no spines on lateral margins of terga, and ventral margin of mid femur not carinate. This monotypic subgenus is endemic to east Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.
