Etymology. As stated by the authors, the species name is a Latin adjective ( penarius , -a, um = for storage). Type material. Holotype ♂ (not examined), TAIWAN, Taichung Hsien, 25-VII-1988, S.C. Tsaur (NCHU).
Distribution. Taiwan
Diagnosis. This species can be easily recognized by its striking coloration: the pink to red frons, clypeus and abdomen, as well as the black areas in the basal third of the forewings.
