Hindwings with three separate brown-black marks around apices of Ms1, Ms2, and claval vein. Rostrum just reaching hind coxae. Pygofer of male genitalia with a pair of prominent, lateral projections; anal segment with short lateral processes. Distribution. North Borneo.

Diagnosis. Rhotana hirashimai shows similarities to R. latipennis Walker , R. crassa sp. nov., and R. sabaea sp. nov., all three also found in Borneo. It can be separated from these by the stramineous legs, the prominent red mark around the last subcostal sector of the forewings, the three marks on the hindwings being clearly and completely separated, and by the pointed dorsal process near the tip of the male aedeagus.
