Diagnosis. The species of this group can be recognized by the combination of the following characters:
1. Hindwings with prominent dark marks near hind margin, around the apices of the M and Cu veins, these marks may be merged.
2. Forewings with Ms1 branched distad of apex of basal median cell.
3. Facial carinae contiguous at their base or until the middle of eyes.
4. Male pygofer with lateral projections which are usually prominent and often pointed.
Distribution. Species of this group are found in North Borneo, the Philippines, Taiwan, southern Japan and Sri
Lanka.
