Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (acutus, -a, -um = pointed).
Type material. Holotype ♂ (not examined), TAIWAN, Lienhuachih , Nantou Hsien, 21.VIII.1986, S.C. Tsaur ( NCHU).
Distribution. Taiwan.
Diagnosis. According to the original description and illustrations Saccharodite acuta shows similarities to Sa. joycei sp. nov. from Fiji and Sa. doddi sp. nov. from Australia. It can be separated from these by the terminal pointed process of the male aedeagus.
