5. Kabakra aviformis View in CoL sp. nov.

Description. This specimen from China resembles K. acutata sp. nov. externally, but the anteclypeus is slightly longer. Vertex with two small vertical patches beneath tadpole-shaped patches ( Figs 12, 14 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ); transverse stripe at transition of vertex to face and fork-like patches at tip of face orange, ochre-testaceous area along midline of frontoclypeus broadened at lower part and tapering towards tip, two sides darker, Y-shaped patch on lower part of face dark brownish, remaining part of anteclypeus light brownish ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ). Stripe along midline of mesonotum broadened ( Figs 12, 14 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ). Forewing with sides of brochosome field grey, six small roundish patches on basal half with indistinct reddish border ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ); hind wing as in Fig. 17 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 . Specimen from Thailand with different coloration compared with the Chinese specimen. Color pattern much like K. celata sp. nov. but much lighter due to being stored in alcohol. Vertex testaceous, semicircular patches in anterior part brownish, patches in hind part lighter ( Figs 18, 20 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ); stripes along inner side of eyes from vertex to face and forklike patch at tip of face orange, two pairs of small roundish patches along lateral frontal sutures brownish, frontoclypeus testaceous, sides with orange transverse stripes, anteclypeus extremely long, with patch on anterior part infuscated ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ). Forewing with basal part orange, apical part infuscated, veins lighter, sides of brochosome field ochre-yellow ( Figs 18, 19 View FIGURES 12 – 26. 12 – 21 ).
Basal abdominal apodemes comparatively narrow, extended to fourth sternite ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ).
Pygofer side narrowing towards apex, hind margin rounded, ventro-caudal margin membranous, with three to four macrosetae; pygofer dorsal appendage sticklike, long, slightly exceeding hind margin of lobe ( Figs 61–63 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ). Subgenital plate narrower than in other species, broadened basally and narrowed medially, apical half with two sides paralleling to each other, apex somewhat truncate, marginal microsetae with several basal ones thin ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ). Apical part of style footlike; specimen from China with inner angle of apical part protruding, irregularly emarginated ( Fig. 66 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ), but specimen from Thailand with inner angle of apical part not protruding, smooth ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ). Connective same as the type of K. acutata sp. nov. ( Figs 68, 69 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ). Aedeagus birdlike, compressed laterally, with pair of thornlike processes at sides of gonopore; gonopore terminal, ventral ( Figs 70, 71 View FIGURES 60 – 71 ).
Measurement. Male length 2.1 & 2.3 mm.
Material examined. 1 Holotype: 3, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Jinghong, Yexianggu, at light, 30-viii-2010, coll. Zhang Meng. Paratype: 13, THAILAND, Chaiyaphum, Tat Tone NP Pha Eang waterfall, 15°57.24'N, 101°54.72'E, 301m, Malaise trap, 26-iv–3-v-2007, coll. "Tawit Jaruphan.
Deposition. Holotype is housed in the Entomological Museum of NWAFU, China; paratype in Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Diagnosis. Distinguished mainly by the sticklike pygofer dorsal appendage and birdlike aedeagus.
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “ aviformis ” which refers to the bird-like form of the aedeagus.
