Remarks.—A green and black species with golden pubescence that resembles a miniature of M. inflata . The body size, inflated male abdomen being widest at segment 4, and the curved posteromedial opercular margin can distinguish the species. Body length is about 27 mm, wingspan about 66.5 mm ( Boulard 1980b).
Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Metcalf 1963b; Duffels & van der Laan 1985). Boulard (1980b) reports the species from Saint Marie Island, East Madagascar, Antongil Bay, East Madagascar, Isaka, Fanjahira Valley, Southeast Madagascar, and Diégo-Suarez, North Madagascar.
