Type locality: Italy, province of Torino , Susa in the Dora Riparia valley ; 500–600 m altitude.
Distribution.—According to Falkner et al. (2002: 108), G. s. stabilei is restricted to the Italian [Torino, Cuneo] – French [Savoie, Hautes-Alpes] main alpine chain, where it is hardly ever found below altitudes of 1800 m.
