Bundera onukiiformis View in CoL n. sp.
( Figures 7 View FIGURE 7 A–J, 11T)
Description. Length of male 6.3 mm. Crown anterior and posterior black maculae narrowly joined to each other medially, anterior macula with two anterior lobes surrounding ovoid medioapical yellow spot and two lateral lobes extended across submarginal oblique carinae behind ocelli, posterior macula quadrate, covering area between eyes; face with frontoclypeus and medial part of anteclypeus bright orange, remainder pale yellow. Pronotum black with lateral margins broadly ochraceous; mesonotum with lateral triangles and median longitudinal band black, remain- der ochraceous. Forewing grey with indistinct broad preapical transverse fuscous band. Thoracic pleurites and legs yellow. Crown with median carina well developed but scarcely elevated above submarginal carinae in profile, median length 1.2X basal width between eyes.
Front femur AM1 near midheight, IC with 12 fine setae, AV with 4 somewhat larger setae nearly continuous with IC row, PV with 8 short setae near midlength and one larger seta preapically; tibia with numerous short setae in rows PD, AD and PV, AV with numerous long macrosetae, distinct accessory row of 4 setae present between AD and AV. Hind tibia formula PD:AD:AV 23:11:17; tarsomere I pecten with 4 tapered setae,
Male pygofer lobe slightly longer than tall, with irregular row of submarginal posteroventral setae; ventral appendage very slender and needlelike, extended along ventral margin but not reaching apex; apex obliquely truncate with small lobe bearing several small spines extended anteromesad from apex. Segment X densely clothed with conspicuous microtrichia, with pair of short spinose lobes ventrolaterally. Subgenital plate narrow at base, evenly broadened to midlength then roundly tapered toward apex, macrosetae arranged in single submedial row in basal half and scattered distally, several long, fine setae present at apex and fewer, shorter fine setae along dorsolateral margin toward base. Style extended to apex of connective stem, apophysis with short, acute ventral heel and greatly elongated and acuminate toe. Aedeagal atrium with lateral lobes large and broadly rounded, preatrium short, base of aedeagus in lateral view large, quadrate, with posteroventral margin forming 90º angle; shaft in lateral view parallel-sided in, more or less evenly curved anterodorsad, apex rounded, distinctly emarginate in dorsal view, gonopore apical.
Etymology. The species name alludes to the superficial similarity of this species to species of the genus Onukia .
Material examined. Holotype male, VIETNAM: Vinh Phuc, Tam Dao , 21.4533ºN 105.6480ºE, 942m, 12 July 2019, C.H.Dietrich, sweeping forest edge, VN19-9-2 ( VNMN). GoogleMaps
Notes. Placement of this species to genus is somewhat uncertain. Externally it resembles species of Onukia Matsumura in having the crown acutely produced with the median longitudinal carina prominent and flanked by lateral concavities, but the male genitalia are more typical of Bundera Distant. Neither of these genera is well defined morphologically and they were not recovered as monophyletic in the recent comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of Wang et al. (2017). The new species differs from other described Bundera species in having the crown narrower and more acutely produced. The markings on the crown and the structure of the male genitalia resemble those of B. bambusana but the spinose internal distal lobe of the pygofer and the small spinose ventrolateral lobes of the anal tube are unique.
