Material. 1 ♀, 3 ♂ ( ZCUMZ No. 21–24), Iran, Mazandaran Province, Menjiroud, Kinj Village , Nowshahr County, N36°24'28.377", E51°30'5.157", 1610 m, Quercus and Fagus forest, coll. P. Davoodi ; 1 ♀ ( ZCUMZ No. 15), Kinj Village , Nowshahr County, N36°23'54.45", E51°31'39.65", 1330 m, garden, coll. P. Davoodi.

Records in the HE. Azarbaijan: Lenkaran, Yardimli and Astara districts ( Muralewicz 1926, 1929; Zalesskaja 1972; Samedov et al. 1976) and Iran: Mazandaran and Gilan provinces (as L. corcyraeus ; Attems 1951; Zapparoli 1986; Zarei et al. 2020).

Distribution. Eastern Mediterranean Region ( Dyachkov et al. 2022b).

Remarks. According to Bonato et al. (2016), L. corcyraeus is a junior synonym of L. variegatus Leach, 1814 with reference to Eason (1983). Zarei et al. (2020) also regarded record of L. corcyraeus from Iran by Attems (1951) as L. variegatus with references for this synonymy to Muralewicz (1926) and Eason (1983). But Muralewicz (1926) and Eason (1983) synonymized L. corcyraeus under L. viriatus . Thus, specimens identified as L. corcyraeus from Iran by Attems (1951) belong to L. viriatus . In this way, L. variegatus is provided for the fauna of Iran erroneously.
