Material examined. China: Guizhou: 13, 1Ƥ, Fanjingshan, Heihewan, 600m, 27 July 2001, Sun Qiang; 13, Fanjingshan, Jinding, 2300m, 30 July 2001, Sun Qiang; 1Ƥ, Fanjingshan, Heihewan, 850m, 28 July 2001, Sun Qiang (all in NWAFU).
Diagnosis. This species resembles M. spinosus and M. distiflangentus , but can be distinguished by the dorsal process of the male pygophore and from the former species by the narrower aedeagal shaft with the triangular-shape dorsal flanges more distally and from the latter species by the shorter pygophore and the aedeagal shaft not concave deeply.
Remarks. This species, originally placed in Scaphotettix , was described from Guizhou, China, based on one male specimen that is deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University.
