Description. Agreeing with Anthobaris as diagnosed by Hustache (1951) but larger. Length 6.9 mm, width 2.5 mm; integument black with brassy tinge; dorsal surface and distal ventrites with erect, plain light brown setae. Elytron with subapical callosity undeveloped, sutural interstriae flat. Surface texture and acuminate fifth tarsomere as in A. rugosicollis . Male unknown.
Etymology. The specific epithet is the comparative of the Latin adjective comptus.
Material examined. Holotype female, Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 , labeled “Quebrada Segunda, P. N. Tapantí, 1250 m, Prov. Cart., COSTA RICA. 18 a 28 feb 1993. F. A. Quesada. L-N-194000, 560000”, INBIO CRI001 211077 ( MNCR, ex INBio).
