Remarks. Taphura boulardi can be distinguished from all other known species of Taphura by the five spots on the dorsal head ( Sanborn 2017a). Taphura boulardi has claspers that curve dorsally terminating in a hook-like structure.
Distribution. The species has been reported from French Guiana and Suriname ( Sanborn 2011a; 2017a) with recent range extensions to include Peru ( Sanborn 2020c), Ecuador ( Sanborn 2020d), and Trinidad ( Sanborn 2020e).
