Type species. Fidicina aper Walker 1850: 87 View in CoL . ( Cayenne , French Guiana)

Remarks. A head wider than the mesonotum, prominent stylate eyes extended anteriorly, pronotum shorter than mesonotum, and timbal covers not concave dorsally distinguish species of Majeorona ( Distant 1905c) .

Distribution. Species of the genus have been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2014a; 2018b; 2020c, d; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Maes et al. 2012) with the range recently expanded to include Bolivia ( Sanborn 2019b) and Trinidad ( Sanborn 2020e).
